&& so the time has come once more...one of the greatest days in history

(besides Christ's birth && resurrection) lol

the day of my birth is just around the corner.... 4/29

however, attending East Carolina University has never failed to upset my birthDAY plans
...as in the previous 2 years I've been enrolled here I have had exams on my birthday!

-- this year is no different

but God is moving (as my grandmother would say)...great things are falling in place right now, so if i don't celebrate soon, i'll get time to later on!

&& it's time for shooting season

The time has come for me to FINALLY set up my own fashion shoots! During the entire month of March 2009, I have been gathering & casting models to be in my shoots. Along with the models, I had to search for a makeup artist, hair stylist, wardrobe stylist, and creative director…..not to mention brainstorm potential concepts I wanted to convey!

After much consideration I have narrowed my model list down to 7 or so models that I want to use throughout the entire month of April shoots. I can’t express how exciting it is to be able to do more than just “everyday” shoots. Don’t misunderstand, I enjoy all photography & love my job; but it’s something about having control over EVERYTHING in a shoot: YOUR concept, YOUR models, YOUR style team, YOUR locations, YOUR word goes. I pray and hope that everything will go as desired and I will be embarking on a project that will be predecent to what I’ll be doing for the rest of my natural life!

The first shoot will take place the early part of next week. If you are interested in being a model (great chance to begin or beef up your own portfolio as well have a good experience under your belt) email me at jocsphotography@hotmail.com with the subeject “April Fashion Model” & a few face on/profile photos of yourself at your fiercest. Mind you these shoots are “high fashion” so a “high fashion” look is desired.

Photos will be up here slowly but surely, you know when you do your own editing, it seems to take FOREVER! =)

i was going through my videos (on my phone) and i came across videos i had taken at the LUPE FIASCO concert i went to last semester

oh my friggin gosh! i wanna see him in concert so bad! that dude can SANG!

&& cue the lights

this past weekend i shot for my first official legit [fashion show] !!

i'm like ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

i am in this fashion organization at my university ...AIMO....Apparel & Interior Merchandising Organization..........and we had our [G-Vegas Fashion Week] show 3/21/09

it was so much work preparing and shooting on the red carpet, setting up, helping with models, etc. but it was hecka (yeah, i said hecka) fun!!

i was so excited as the days led up, but once the words "....so [we] hope you enjoy the show!" came out of our president's mouth && the lights lowered

the spot light was on && the adrenaline came out as i [snap ** snap ** snaped] the models as they came down the runway!

my knees hurt soooooooooo bad, but hey, it's what i love && what i plan to end up doing with my life!

it was a dream come true!!!
